Cambridge Community Outreach Tabernacle (CCOT) had its
beginning under another well known ministry. While
attending a convention in Tennessee, Rev. Dr. Nerissa
Clarke heard the voice of God speak to hear clearly
in her ears saying “Whom shall I send and who
will go for me?”
Soon after this divine encounter with God, the overseer
for the New England Region (of which she was apart)
also heard from the Lord concerning her calling to
the ministry. In 1981, she was appointed pastor in
Cambridge. It was a small beginning with her and her
children in their living room. By faith, they started
to evangelize in the community. The Lord blessed their
efforts and the greatest excitement was when a lady
accepted Jesus Christ into her home. God miraculously
increased the congregation and it became necessary
as time went on to move to another facility.
We were forced by growth to occupy seven different
locations before we found a place that we could call
our own. The church was able to purchase a building
at 190 Harvard Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
However, much renovation, and in fact a complete remodeling
of the building had to take place which needless to
say was extremely costly.
However being a servant of God who lived a life of
prayer and fasting and having experienced many miracles
in her life through faith in the mighty God of signs
and wonders! Rev. Dr. Clarke forged ahead and pressed
her way through. The Lord moved mightily as she met
the Lord’s requirements with hard work and much
sacrifice.
As she continued to seek the Lord, the specific calling,
gifts and anointing on her life were revealed. These
were confirmed through servants of God with the prophetic
voice; and who were sent to the sanctuary to confirm
all that was shown her.
The vision of a healing and deliverance ministry was
birthed in her spirit. She knew there was more than
having church as usual! More than religious customs
and traditions! Even other revelations came that the “mercy
drops” were falling but there were showers of
blessings that needed to be released from the heavenlies.
There came the time and season in 1997, to leave the
nest of the mother church and the comfort zone. It
was time to soar with the eagles. From this move, C.C.O.T
was birthed.
Rev. Dr. Clarke is the overseer and senior pastor.
She is accompanied by Rev. Allan Clarke as co-pastor
and who has the apostolic anointing on his life and
the prophetic mantle. They seek to follow in Christ’s
footsteps and to line up with His word.
Cambridge Community Outreach Tabernacle is in the
business of pulling down religious customs, traditions
and avoiding legalism which are evidently stumbling
blocks to God’s children and their blessings.
God’s servants are lining up with His word according
to Isaiah 61:2-3, “to proclaim liberty to the
captives…the oil of joy for mourning…” and
according to Matthew 10:1, “…to heal the
sick; heal all manner of diseases and to shoot the
children of God into their destiny.”
As a training ground for ministers and potential pastors,
C.C.O.T encourages covenant partners to discover their
gifts and are supported fully as their gifts and calling
on their lives are revealed.
C.C.O.T strives to fulfill Jesus’ prophetic
word: [“you shall know the truth and the truth
shall make you free”] through teaching and preaching
the word followed by miracles, signs and wonders, the
covenant partners then can move into the blessing mentioned
by the prophetic utterance of Paul stated in III John
1:2 [“…that you prosper and be in health
even as your soul prospereth.”]
We the people of C.C.O.T desire to have God present
an open heaven over the ministry and that we may function
under the authority of the government of heaven and
follow directions of the Captain of God’s heavenly
host. The Head of the Church and the Chief Shepherd
Jesus Christ!
We purpose to give the Most High God all the glory
and all the praise which belong to Him!
